This in-person training provides a comprehensive introduction to postpartum doula work. Whether you’re brand new to the field or looking to expand your birth work into postpartum care, this training equips you with the tools needed to begin supporting families right away.
Led by Kylee Alejandre, a ProDoula Postpartum & Infant Care Doula Trainer and Phoenix Family Doulas owner, this course combines real-world experience with professional standards to help you build both competence and confidence in your role as a doula.
What You’ll Learn
During this hands-on training, you’ll gain practical knowledge about the physical, emotional, and practical needs families experience after birth. Postpartum doulas play an important role in helping parents recover, adjust to life with a newborn, and feel confident caring for their baby.
Throughout the training, we cover essential topics such as newborn care and infant safety, postpartum recovery after birth, feeding support for both breastfed and bottle-fed babies, and realistic expectations around infant sleep and soothing techniques. We also discuss the emotional adjustments families often experience during the postpartum period and how doulas can provide steady, compassionate support. In addition to client care, the training includes guidance on professional communication, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and building a sustainable, professional doula practice so you feel prepared to begin supporting families with confidence.
You’ll leave the training with both the foundational knowledge and practical tools needed to begin supporting families with professionalism and compassion.
